Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Align Canada operates the bilingual website audit on this site. The person in charge of protection of personal information is the operator of Align Canada. Reach them through the Contact form on this site.

This policy is written for Quebec and Canada. It is meant to meet the Quebec private-sector privacy statute (Law 25) and, where it applies, PIPEDA.

What we collect

The URL you submit, so we can fetch the public page and build the report (Core Web Vitals, EN/FR parity, Bill 96 and Law 25 signals, SEO).

The name, email, topic, and message you send in the Contact form.

If you start Pro checkout, Square processes the payment. We do not store the card number. Square may receive the amount, currency, and an order id.

Technical hosting logs (IP address, browser, time) kept by our host for security. We do not sell personal information and we do not run targeted ads.

Why

To run the audit you asked for, answer a message, take a Pro subscription if you start one, and protect the service from abuse. The basis is your request, or a legal duty, as the case may be.

Cookies and storage

We do not set advertising cookies. The banner only records your choice. Browser storage may hold the light or dark theme (align-theme), your consent choice (align-consent), and, if you write in, the email already submitted so we do not ask again.

Accept or refuse does not load a third-party tracker. There is no Google Analytics, Meta pixel, or equivalent on this site.

Where data goes

The site is hosted on Vercel. A Pro payment goes through Square. Those providers may process information outside Quebec. We send them only what hosting or payment requires, and we say so here as Law 25 expects.

How long

Contact messages are kept long enough to reply, then no more than 24 months. Technical logs follow the host’s retention. You can ask for earlier deletion, except where the law requires us to keep a record.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, or withdrawal of consent, and you can complain. Use the Contact form. You can also apply to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

We answer within the time Law 25 allows. No automated decision is made about you: the score describes a public web page, not a person.

Minors

The service is for businesses and freelancers, not children. Do not send information about a minor.
